26 Dec The Difference Between Smooth Geomembrane And Textured Geomembrane
The Difference
Geomembrane can be divided into Smooth geomembrane and Textured geomembrane. The more fundamental difference between the two is that on the basis of anti-seepage. The former smooth surface is not anti-slip, and the latter because of its uneven surface, so it has a anti-slip effect, often used in slope and other similar environments.
Therefore, when in use or in the design of engineering seepage prevention, we should be clear and understand the differences between the two geomembranes. Only in this way, we can use different Geosynthetic products in different application fields to give full play to their advantages.
Smooth Geomembrane
Smooth HDPE Geomembrane is made of high quality polyethylene original resin, adding anti-aging agent, antioxidant, ultraviolet absorber, stabilizer and other auxiliary materials, by three-layer co-extrusion technology to make a kind of impermeable water material. It has high tensile strength, strong anti-aging and corrosion resistance, and good anti-seepage effect.
The specifications above 1.0mm geomembrane are suitable for landfill, tailings storage, channel seepage prevention, dam seepage prevention projects. It has good heat resistance and cold resistance. Biogas impermeable membrane has good chemical stability, high rigidity and toughness, good mechanical strength, good resistance to environmental stress cracking and tear strength. With the increase of density, the mechanical properties and barrier properties will be correspondingly improved, the heat resistance and tensile strength is also higher. It can resist acid, alkali, organic solvents and other corrosion.
Textured Geomembrane
Textured HDPE geomembrane is a new type of impervious material, including single textured surface, double textured surface and column point HDPE geomembrane. It can increase the coefficient of friction, with anti-slip function, more conducive to steep slope and vertical seepage prevention, improve the stability of the project.
Textured geomembrane is very suitable for various embankment reinforcement because of its rough particles, while smooth geomembrane has no advantages over textured geomembrane.
Single textured geomembrane is a kind of geomembrane with one side smooth and one side textured. The surface of textured geomembrane is composed of convex structure with high friction coefficient. Compared with smooth geomembrane, textured geomembrane can not only be applied to roof leakage prevention, landscaping, farmland drainage seepage prevention, soil and water conservation, beach reclamation, environmental engineering landfill, three wastes treatment and environmental remediation, desertification prevention and other projects, but also can be applied to steep slopes or slope membrane surface need to cover soil and other engineering projects requiring a large friction coefficient.
summary
Depending on the surface and technical data of the two geomembranes, it is necessary to choose the appropriate product for construction in the project. Good products can avoid a lot of unnecessary troubles.
Remember to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
