Geotextile for roads
Geotextiles fabric have the following common uses in road projects:
1. Filtration and drainage: Geotextile allows water to pass through and prevents soil particles from passing through. It is widely used in soft foundation treatment of highways, subgrade drainage, retaining wall back drainage, etc.
2. Isolation: Use geotextile to separate different soil structures to form a stable interface, so that each layer of structure can be separated and play their respective characteristics and overall role according to requirements.
3. Reinforcement: Geotextiles have high tensile strength and extensibility and can serve as reinforcement. It is widely used in highway embankment reinforcement, platform back roadbed fill reinforcement, and pavement crack prevention and control.
4. Protection: Geotextile plays a certain role in the diffusion, transmission or decomposition of concentrated stress, and can prevent the soil from being damaged by external forces.
5. Others: Geotextiles are also commonly used for greening roads and preventing reflective cracks.
